It’s His Breath in our Lungs
It’s really been a tough start to the year, 3 months in and it feels like my entire world has been turned upside down. Life as I’ve known it, may never be the same again.
It seems despite all my efforts to start living a healthier lifestyle, I may just have been a wee bit late. A few weeks ago I came down with the flu, felt better for a few days and then started to get worse. When it got to the point of feeling like I had pneumonia I went off to the doctor… only to hear news I honestly never thought I was going to hear.
I have been diagnosed with Emphysema (Lung disease) and on top of this condition, I have a Lung infection which is why I am feeling so awful. I must admit, I am slightly scared, I am slightly angry and I am feeling horribly guilty for not taking care of myself sooner.
Through all of these feelings, I choose to say I don’t know what God has planned through all of this, but I do know that He knows what He is doing, His plan never fails. He is bigger than this condition and it’s His breath in my lungs, so it will all be just fine! I don’t understand why after I’ve given all the unhealthy choices up and still end up sick anyway, but God has a plan! Sometimes we don’t always have to understand, we just need to trust in His plan through it all.
When life feels unfair, look up! The answer to everything is with the very one who created us to begin with. Sometimes life feels super unfair, but while we’re sitting wasting time feeling discouraged – God is already working in the background and He know what Hes doing.
We may be unsure of what His plan is and our circumstances might feel to us unbearable but when we submit our feelings to Him, He offers us a peace and a strength beyond all understanding.
Even when we’re scared and unsure, one thing we can hold onto for certain is that God plans to give us a hope and a future, His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
If we read further after this so very well known verse, God calls us to pray to Him when we are feeling unsure of His plans for us. He promises to be there and to listen to us. He asks us to seek Him and with ALL our hearts because that’s when we will find Him.
God wants us to trust in His plan for our lives, even when we are unsure. He created us, it’s His breath in our lungs, He is bigger than any problem we could ever face and He knows the plans He has for our lives and they are plans for only good.
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13
